About Thermae Retreat

For anyone seeking stress relief, Thermae Retreat is a local favorite. As a Fort Lauderdale wellness center, they've earned a solid reputation for helping folks unwind. You can always check their windows as you're walking by, it's right there on the corner! They offer a range of services, including deep tissue massages to really work out those knots, plus other treatments focused on overall wellbeing.

Booking is usually pretty simple; they have a website, or you can just call. Parking can be a little tight sometimes depending on the day, especially closer to the weekend, so allow a little extra time. What really makes them special, from what I hear from neighbors, is the emphasis they put on continuous education for their therapists. They're not just going through the motions; they are constantly participating in ongoing training and certification programs, specifically focusing on specialized massage techniques and wellness practices.

The entire experience at this wellness center in Fort Lauderdale is designed to be calming. From the moment you walk in, they try to make you feel relaxed, with soft lighting and soothing music. It’s a popular spot to spend an afternoon when you need to recharge. Their hours are pretty convenient, too, with evening appointments most days except Tuesday, so you can swing by after work.

Customer Reviews for Thermae Retreat

Kaya Gross — 5/5 (via Google)

I hadn't been to Thermea at PEMS Spa since they relocated, and wow -- the upgrade is real. They've truly enhanced the entire space. All the favorites are still there -- sauna, infrared, cold plunge -- all the good, restorative things -- but the expanded backyard creates such a beautiful, elevated vibe. The meditation room is absolutely perfect: cozy, grounding, and so peaceful you genuinely forget you're in the middle of Fort Lauderdale. From the moment I walked in, the team was warm and welcoming. Sasha greeted me with such kindness, setting the tone immediately. My therapist, Esteban, gave me a 90-minute deep tissue massage that was exactly what I needed. I walked in carrying so much stress I'm convinced my shoulders were practically up by my ears -- and he truly worked the muscles and joints with intention. Not a fluffy, oil-and-elbows massage, but real, therapeutic bodywork that made a difference. It felt like a little piece of heaven tucked inside the city. I love that they also host monthly events supporting artists -- such a thoughtful touch. I don't know why I don't come here more often, but I'm officially committed to changing that. Absolutely amazing experience. Can't wait to go back.

This retreat was amazing. I went for my birthday during the month of July. The staff was great and the services was very reasonable and worth every minute I spent there. I traveled from Chicago just to get their services. I will definitely be back. I meant to send this sooner but have been busy. If you want a retreat to assist with your reset, refocus and rejuvenate your mind go see them. I felt like a new person afterwards. Awesome experience! You guys are the best!

Yacht Chick — 5/5 (via Google)

Special gem of Fort Lauderdale in the wellness space. I regularly enjoy my time here detoxing in the infrared saunas then relishing a deep tissue massage. Every treatment I have received has exceeded my expectations and the space is very inviting and comfortable. Kelly is always very thoughtful and gracious and I can't say enough good things about this wonderful sanctuary in the heart of Lauderdale.

Sunshine J. Chapman — 5/5 (via Google)

This is a lovely, relaxing oasis in the city. I enjoyed the infrared sauna and garden before my incredible massage with Jose. Jose is Magical and unlike any massage therapist I have had before. And I have massages weekly, all over the world. He combined myofascial release with Thai techniques. Uses elbows and thumbs to hold pressure points while stretching deeply. Moves limbs around, arms over head, legs over body and sideways, and uses hot stones and hot towels, all to target pain points precisely and deeply. Intense but never painful. Left me feeling euphoric and completely free of tension. Wow!
